Jambo everyone, sorry for the hiatus.
I have now been in Tanzania for over a week and so far am enjoying it very very much.
as I was landing in Dar El Salaam I could see that the country looked very different from my own,
It was facinating seeing all the palm trees and the rooftops of small buildings,
and the colour of the country was very brown, even the green trees and bushes looked dirty from all the dust and sand.
The rains will be arriving in a few months, which should transform the country and make it look lucious and green.

It is very hot and sunny here, but it's not too hot that it's unbearable.
so far I have met many new people in Dar El Salaam and Morogoro. I have also met a few other volenteers.
near the house there is a lovely beer garden, which I have spent a few evenings drinking beer at. and I can tell you, a nice cold beer helps in this hot weather.

at the start of the week I went to exchange some of my english money to Tanzanian currency, because the currency is worth so much less than ours, i'm now oficially and Millionaire,

I took the coach from Dar El Salaam to Morogorol. it was a 3 hour drive, so I got to see many things on the journey.
I saw the Masai travelling with their cows along the road and also many different plantlife. and at every stop we made, loads of people were holding up their goods to the windows to sell, things like kachew nuts and cold drinks.
one person jumped onto the coach to sell on board and got off at the next stop, but he had all his goods stolen by the people, as apparently it is forbidden to sell on board. XD

now i'm back in Dar El Salaam as I am taking Swahili lessons here, I took my first one today.

the lifestyle in Africa is very different. For one, it is far more relaxed and people are very friendly, I am always being greeted with a very warm welcome.
it's very much a people persons country, and not so much a material country.

I will keep in touch with you guys as much as I can, and I will try to post some photo's in the future.
